Giving Now and in the Future

Greg and Donna Greene

Greg ’88 and Donna Greene

Greg Greene ’88 earned his MBA at Barry University and received a practical education. A judge taught his law class and an advertising executive led his marketing studies. The experiences of his instructors, and those of his fellow students in the corporate world, brought real life into the classroom.

But student life is not the beginning or end of Greg’s relationship with Barry University. He grew up minutes away from the campus and recalls playing outside while his parents taught classes at Barry during his childhood.

Currently, Greg serves as president of the university Board of Directors. Since retiring from the corporate world in 2016, he has dedicated his energy to executive coaching and organizational leadership. He uses his business skills to encourage and enable the school leadership to do their best work.

chool of Scoial WorkGreg and his wife, Donna, are highly committed to Barry University's mission. They know Barry graduates go on to serve the world as teachers, scientists, nurses and executives.

“At Barry, students get more than a piece of paper,” Greg says. “They learn how to think about their role in society and how to make a difference.”

The Greenes make a difference at Barry by supporting two scholarships for students in the Adrian Dominican School of Education. Through Greg’s will, they can continue to care for the university when he is gone.

“Once Barry gets in your DNA, it is hard to get it out,” Greg says. “Leaving this gift is not about a legacy or being remembered, but about how my wealth can make a difference even when I am no longer here.”
